Nr: 2 Accommodation Bologna

Second important thing for me was to find accommodation in Italy, Bologna. Basically, for me it was a hardest thing to do. Differently from Coventry, in Bologna the Accademia di Belle Arti Bologna do not provide or offer student accommodations, that means that each student suppose to look for a place to stay by himself in advertisement pages. Particularly, from my research- in Bologna independent student accommodations ( like in Coventry : Callice Court, Raglan House, Victoria Halls and others) do not exist. However, on the other side, there are really popular for students to live in houses, apartments: by sharing a room and living facilities with other person (doppia- double), it is also the cheapest choice to stay on; or possible more expensive preference (singola - single), where you have your own room, but share living facilities with other housemates.

In fact, I started to look for the room to rent in Bologna four months before the arrival date and still it was really hard for me to find one. So, the offers from Coventry Erasmus support team to look for the accommodation as soon as possible are worth a serious consideration. A lot of tenants do not want Erasmus student or people, who would stay less than a year. Other problem that I faced is that many tenants in their advertisements required to be contacted by a phone call, of course the communication supposed to be in Italian language. However, the real trouble for me was the remote communication itself as you cannot see the room or book it at the same moment: one moment you are talking with a person, writing emails and the room is available for rent and other it is already booked. I have faced this situation too many times. But luckily after the three months of stressful search I have finally rented the room for 10 months of Erasmus stay in Bologna.
