Direct Mosaic 1 st. technique

With the direct method, you place tesserae, piece by piece, directly onto the foundation using an adhesive.

My first made mosaic - PRIMO MOSAICO:

OPUS MUSIVUM- Glass paste

1) Firstly, before making a mosaic , I had to make a sketch of what I am going to make.

2) Then I needed to find colorful pieces of glass, sort them out, by the required color palette. It was similar to the painting, just instead of applying colors mixes, I was putting small pieces in order to make a shade line.

3) Afterwards, I have glued sorted glass details on holey fabric ( malla di fibra) , accordingly to my sketch.

That was a direct technique, because the correct side of the image is on the top.
